TechRadar’s Guide To The Best Portable Music Players

TechRadar MP3 Players

Thank you for checking out this tech article at NWOAA. This is our first tech related article to date, and you may wonder why we’re breaking into posting about tech if we are online for promoting artists in America. We say, “why not”? It gives us a chance to bring more content to you that you may find interesting and also more chances as we post more blog posts on varying subjects to promote our directory members. So essentially we’re killing two birds with one stone by helping you connect with news that matters, and discover the awesome art talent we represent in our directory that we hope you become new fans of. In this post we would like to recognize Caralyn Edwards of Mystic Reflections who creates beautifully detailed fantasy art sculptures from polymer clay. We’ll have more info on her work for you toward the end of this post, but first lets get on with our topic concerning MP3 players.

Why would you need an MP3 player today?

Despite the popularity of smartphones in today’s tech world, and the convenience they give us for listening to music (among other things) from our own personal music collections (all those mp3’s we’ve been collecting for years), plus all the great music apps we can use such as Spotify (my chosen music app), Google Music, Amazon, etc., MP3 players are not dead. If you really love music, they are still the best dedicated music device to have if all you want to do is listen to your music without being tied to your phone. In my case, I love my mp3 player because it is smaller than my phone, and I can escape completely away from my phone. I can just dive into my music without running my phone battery down or hearing distracting notifications from other things on my phone while trying to listen to my music.

Today I am bringing you a link to an article by Christian de Looper at TechRadar (the source for tech buying advice) who can give you a few more reasons to consider having an mp3 player in your tech life, and show you some nice models to consider owning. The article is titled “Best MP3 Players: TechRadar’s guide to the best portable music players” and you can click this link to read it on TechRadar’s website. Christian not only shows you some great MP3 player options, but also includes links to full reviews of these devices to help you determine if they could suit your needs.

I would like to add that I have purchased some great low cost mp3 players on ebay, particularly Ruizu brand mp3 players that have suited me just fine for every day use of sorting through and listening to my own personal collection of thousands of mp3’s I have.

Mystic Reflections Polymer Clay Sculpture That’s it for this post, however we would also like for you to visit Caralyn Edwards of Mystic Reflections who creates beautifully detailed fantasy art sculptures from polymer clay, and then hand paints them herself. Her detailed creations will take you to a new world of imagination. She never uses a mold and every figurine varies in size and uniqueness. We’re sure you will want to collect every figurine she has created if you love fantasy art.

Mystic Reflections Fantasy Art by Caralyn Edwards-Tucker

Mystic Reflections

Fantasy art figures created by polymer clay artist, Caralyn, from Atlanta, Ga. Owner of Mystic Reflections since 2003.

Artist’s Bio: A little over a decade ago, my sister helped me start up my art business “Mystic Reflections.” At the time, I had just a small website and most of my artwork was black-and-white sketches that I sold at craft shows. In 2007, I sculpted my first Myxies (fairy sculptures), dragons, and animal pals. My early sculptures were made from an air-drying clay. I now use polymer clay, having refined my materials along with my techniques and tools.

After trying for several years, I was finally accepted into the Dragon Con Art show in 2008. I’ve been fortunate enough to be accepted back every year, which has continuously made it my largest annual event. To date, I’ve received six awards from the art show for various pieces. My work’s popularity has grown steadily due to the exposure Dragon Con provides, and I look forward to this exciting convention each year. Several smaller shows discovered me through Dragon Con and have approached me about being their featured artist.

Two years ago, I was able to leave my corporate job to pursue my art full-time. This allowed me to dedicate more time to perfecting my craft and gave me the opportunity to illustrate my first children’s book, “The Adventures of Mend.” It was my first experience as a contracted professional illustrator.

Every year, my business continues to grow, and I’m able to create a multitude of artworks for people to enjoy. I hand-make each of my sculptures, never using molds so each piece is one-of-a-kind. These unique creations prove to be the most popular of my pieces.
